Our newish wagon just came back from it’s first recall appointment (changed something in the airbags and steering column) plus 2 other fixes to warranty-able items (gas gauge issue and xenon turning headlights software fix).

The VW CPO warranty has already paid for itself (figure it was an extra 1k — 2k to buy it with that warranty from a dealer).

Some people hate dealerships — but I’m sold on VW’s system. They even washed and polished the car while it was there!! FTW.

My beautiful little girl turns 1 today — hard to sum up the 1st year but it’s been incredible. Her personality is shining through and she’s so much fun. This morning I went to give her a piece of banana and she actually said “nommmm” as she chopped it. Hysterical.

Very interesting. Some great looking stuff from Ed — love the photo/line on the cover. Maybe we’ll find out more soon !!

We bought our plane tickets ridiculously cheap through Delta (800$ for Both Linda and I / return / 1 stop / taxes in) and sent off our deposit $ for the condo we’ve rented (lawn is onto the sand).

Already contacted some buddies and internet peeps to show me around during a couple dawn patrols. Also have a great list of resto’s and cool spots to hit. And it’s Devyn’s birthday (Chris and Ralu’s daughter) the first weekend we’re there. We’re excited.

Now I have to get my arms back into paddling shape.

We have Linda’s brother’s wedding in April (woohoo) down in Oceanside, CA.

Hoping to get some sessions in (dawn patrols?). April seems like a good month to hit that area also: I don’t mind cold and there should be swell. Everyone’s been telling me all these spots to hit — fun. Hoping to meet up with Gouge a couple times for a CBad/Tamarack session — maybe even ‘bluffy’ spots.

Working away yesterday — I knew Johan had driven down solo to catch some waves on his couple days off. Pull up the Wall cam and lo and behold — He’s just finished his session and getting back in the car.

Cottage life started over the weekend. Great to have a change of scenery and get outside!
