I’ve bought a lot of skateboard magazines over the years. As I’ve mentioned before; these magazines provided an escape from the rural area that I started skating in — they connected me with so many other likewise people and opened my mind to a lot of culture I might have never seen.
Luckily I still have [...]

Montréal on a Sunday night
April 21st, 2008 · No Comments
Last night was a beautiful Sunday night in Montreal.
We took a walk up St. Laurent, across St. Joseph and down St Denis back to Roy (map).
Peered into a 100 windows, window shopped some modern furniture and generally admired the city we live in. We took some snaps.

Damn Futureshop having a sale
April 13th, 2008 · 4 Comments
Linda and I, since deciding not to move, had come up with a few items we want to upgrade in our small apartment (as sort of a consolation prize after giving up on the apt search).
One of them was a new TV; I had seen the model I wanted; friends had bought it and were [...]

Great time lapse work by Ross Ching
April 6th, 2008 · No Comments
Came across this time lapse video by Ross Ching…
“…links directly to a QuickTime movie (17.6MB). A series of time lapse sequences edited together into one short film. Rather unique in that the camera pans (& tilts) during the time-lapses. Nicely done.”

Snowy scene by the church
Snow started fluttering down around lunch today and kept at it ’til 8pm or so.
Some in our office have said their goodbyes to winter; so this came as a cold-wet-downer.

The fire on Des Pins
April 4th, 2008 · 1 Comment
Found some crazy photos this morning (via Andy on Twitter) of the fire that happened on Des Pins Wednesday afternoon.
I walked past it that night and there were still flames at 7pm.
Some of our clients work 2 buildings down and where evacuated due to intense smoke. Even people 2 blocks away really felt the burn/punch [...]

Gern (seen on the right in the above photo), got a great write up about the new “Chick Pickin’ Mondays” at Grumpy’s Bar…
“On the surface, he may be one of the last guys you’d expect to champion the cause of this city’s coterie of women singers and musicians. [...]
